Infectious laryngotracheitis (ILT) is a serious viral disease that causes significant economic losses in poultry production, primarily due to high mortality rates and decreased egg production. The disease is characterized by pronounced respiratory symptoms in affected birds and pathomorphological changes in the respiratory tract. In this study, the ILT virus was diagnosed on layer hen farms based on clinical signs and pathological findings, with a final diagnosis confirmed using the molecular PCR method. The infection was initially observed in the rear sections of the facility and spread throughout the entire building as the disease progressed. Clinical symptoms in affected birds included dyspnea, serous nasal discharge, conjunctivitis, and swelling of the head in the orbital region. Pathomorphological changes included yellow diphtheroid deposits in the tracheal and laryngeal lumen, mucous exudate, caseous plugs at the entrance to the larynx, and haemorrhagic inflammation of the tracheal and laryngeal mucosa. Microscopically, pathognomonic inclusion bodies were detected in infected cells. In some cases, in addition to the ILT virus, the bacteria Haemophilus gallinarum was also isolated, indicating a synergistic effect of viral and bacterial infection, further contributing to the severity of clinical signs. Early recognition of clinical symptoms and rapid diagnosis of ILT virus (through pathological, histopathological, and molecular examination) play a key role in implementing appropriate treatment and prevention measures to reduce economic losses and enable effective control on the farm.en_US
