| dcterms.abstract | One of the conditions for the export of pigs and pork products to the European Union
market, as well as other markets, is development and implementation of secondary
legislation on control measures of Aujeszky’s disease. In the Republic of Serbia, there
is no Rulebook on measures of control, suppression and eradication of Aujeszky's
disease, which should further determine the Program for control and eradication of
this disease. By developing and implementing these documents in accordance with
the already established directives and decisions of the European Union (64/432 EEZ,
2008/185 EC with all amendments), conditions for placing pigs and pork products
from the Republic of Serbia into the international markets, especially the European
Union market, are created.
Researchers of the Scientific Veterinary Institute "Novi Sad" in cooperation with
representatives of the Veterinary Directorate have created a draft Rulebook on
measures of control, suppression and eradication of Aujeszky's disease, together with
Eradication Program for this disease. The key elements of the Rulebook regarding to
measures to be applied in case of suspicion and confirmation of disease,
epizootiological investigation, diagnostic methods, notification obligations,
suppression and eradication of Aujeszky's disease are presented in this paper. | En |
