dc.description.abstract | Virus isolation on Vero cell culture was successful from a single and a pool of 4 swabs of
patients positive in a rapid antigen test for SARS-CoV-2. Genome RNA sequencing of
both SARS-CoV-2 isolates designed as Novi Sad 2021-1 and 2 (NS21-1; NS21-2) proved
that they belong to the „British” strain. Adaptation of virus isolates to Vero culture was
done in three consecutive passages, whereby the incubation was shortened from 6 days to
36 hours until the appearance of the first cytopathic effect (CPe). Viral harvest titers
ranged from 4 to 7 logCCID50/mL. Inactivation of the isolates was successful with betapropiolactone, 1: 1000, with preserved viral antigenicity. | en_US |
